• I activated WordPress 2.0.2 yesterday as part of my hosting package.

I got it all setup and running and after figuring out to use default Permalinks, the RSS feeds were all working.

Nobody has used this since yesterday. Nobody else has access and the site is not yet public.

Today, the RSS feeds are not working again!

    “Page not found” errors.

How can this be possible? Either they work or not… how can they break without anyone touching it?

    Thank-you!

The “Entries” is not working now but the “Comments” started working again.

Since my host provided such an old version, I’m going to start over by installing the latest one. I’ll let you know if I continue to have any RSS problems.

    php version 5.1.4
    MySQL version 4.0.27

I guess I don’t meet the SQL requirements… what is the highest version I can install?

Can’t you persuade your hosting provider to update their MySQL version?

I would hope so but communication with them has been so poor lately. I dread the thought of switching providers at this point due to the dozens of web sites & database applications I’d have to move.

I see that I can install 2.8.6 with my configuration so I’ll start with that.

A fresh installation of 2.8.6 working fine so far.

Waiting on response from host regarding a MySQL upgrade.

I’d still push your hosts to upgrade if you can. A 2.8.6 install has a significantly higher risk of being hacked than a 2.9.1 install. I would have thought that a decent host just might be concerned about that.
