Thank you for leaving us a review and I am sorry to hear of your frustrations in using our plugin! Unfortunately, last week there was an API update that require an update to our plugin, and reconnection of any Personal connection that existed in earlier versions. Normally, connections are more stable but it sounds like you have experiences issues with this previously still, so I will provide some details on how the connections work and how they can be made more stable. Once a connection is made, we have no control over whether the connections are invalidated or not.
Some standard things to avoid (or at least be ready to reconnect after) would be the following:
- Changing the account’s Instagram password
- Having the role removed from one of the connected pages of a Business Profile
- Clicking the ‘log out from all devices’ button in the Instagram settings
- Removing the Smash Balloon app from the App Integrations on Instagram.
- Instagram identifying a potential security issue with an account – this can be caused by clients sharing login credentials directly.
As such, when handling multiple plugin setups and specifically for clients, connecting a Business Profile or having the client connect directly is recommended.
If you would choose to use a Business Profile connection and manage connections through your own Facebook account, the main thing to keep in mind here is that there is?one connection between an Instagram/Facebook account and our application. And you would always need to select all accounts, all pages and permissions when connecting a specific account on a specific site. If you have any questions about this don’t hesitate to let us know.
When working with clients rather than your own sites, you can ask each client to, instead of making you admin / giving you a role or sharing credentials, create an access token and ID for you to use and add in our plugin using the?manually connect account?option when connecting a source. They can follow?this guide?to set that up.
