Featuring pages instead of posts on the homepage

I recently moved from wordpress.com to www.remarpro.com so virtually have to redo my site from scratch and want it to look exactly the same. On wordpress.com I was able to use the featured section on the home page to showcase pages but on .org I can only seem to be able to get it to show posts. Does anyone know how to get it to feature pages instead of posts?
