Hello, We decided to go with Event Manager Pro because our client wanted event details on the calendar widget upon hover and it didn’t work once we entered some test events. I see it works fine on the full calendar, but we have to have the same thing on the calendar widget.

Please help this site needs to go live asap.

    Hi,

I’m sorry but the mini calendar widget isn’t designed to do that – so you would either need to customize it or build a replacement, depending on which you feel would be the least time consuming.

Sorry we can’t do more on this occasion.

We picked your plugin because of this feature, as listed under your “Badass features you only get with Events Calendar Pro.” So your telling us that your feature list is incorrect? If this is true, we would like a refund.

    CALENDAR WIDGET

A simple grid widget that shows the current month with event details for each day available upon hover. Users can click into an individual event listing from the grid if they wish.

    Hi,

I apologize for the misinformation on our site! We will get that corrected as soon as possible. If you aren’t able to customize the widget yourself, I’d be happy to provide you a refund. Please email your order receipt to pro (at) tri.be referencing this thread and I will get it processed.

    Best,
    Leah

    Hi Leah,
From one Development Company to another, I believe your response to this issue is unprofessional. I don’t think it’s fair to mislead people in to buying your plugin and then not support features you listed. If we have to take the refund, you’re going to cost our company at least a few hours of work, since we’ll have to find another plugin, get it approved by our client and then install and set it up.

I would much rather see a response saying “I’m sorry that the feature listed hasn’t been implemented. We’ll get that feature added right away.”

    Thank you,
    Brad

  • Hey Brad. Rob from Modern Tribe here; I saw your review and needless to say I wanted to follow-up with you about your experience. First let me obviously apologize for the experience you faced so far…I know what it’s like to use a product and find yourself struggling, then not receive the help you’ve come to expect. It’s a crappy feeling and I’m sorry on behalf of the whole team for letting you down here.

While I do take slight issue with selectively copying/pasting aspects from the support forum to make a 1-star review, this is understandable and I wanted to clarify a few points for you to better inform you on how our support system and feature development cycle operates.

Please understand that the issue you noted here – the lack of a feature that we previously had in 2.0.11, but removed for 3.0 – is absolutely an oversight on our end. The tooltip hover that we had in 2.x made sense when we first launched 2.0 in November 2011, but by 2013 it seemed a more antiquated approach and we took a different direction (based largely on feedback from the community and WP best practices).

The second you made us aware of the misinformation on our site, we got the ball rolling in our system to make that change. We appreciate folks like you who report these issues to us – and while it’s a bit of a bummer that the one minor feature we removed in 3.0 (to make for a smoother overall experience) is the one your clients were most sold on, we failed you by miscommunicating the feature set. By reporting it you’ve made sure nobody else will face this problem down the road…and best I can tell the second you made us aware of this we offered you a refund so you could find a better calendar solution to meet your needs. If there was any step during this process in which we could have been more responsive or helpful, I’d love to hear what that was so we can improve in the future.

Unfortunately, given our development cycle – and the development cycle for most plugin shops – we can’t simply say “we’ll get that feature added right away.” Particularly in this case, when it was indeed a feature we actively decided to remove. Our development queue is based largely on fixing bugs and adding features that we see the most demand for. While I wish we could reply to every forum thread with “Yes, we’ll add that next release!” so we could keep everyone happy…it sadly just isn’t realistic given budget, resource and time constraints. While users are still welcome to the 2.0.11 code where this was a feature (and I’d happily provide it to you free of cost if you were interested in that), this isn’t realistically something we’ll be working back into the codebase anytime soon.

Anyway, I just wanted you to know that someone is listening – we take this feedback seriously and it’s reviews like these that help us grow the most. I appreciate you taking the time to write this…likewise I hope my reply helped shed some light on things. If you have any follow-up questions, comments, complaints, etc – know that you can email me (rob /a/ tri.be) anytime with your feedback. It may not be immediate but I hope we can someday win back your trust.

I appreciate your feed back, and I do understand where you are coming from. We do like the other features of your product and will continue using it, if our client can get past this feature not currently being available.

I do hope you get this feature added soon and until then, I suggest removing it from your listed features on your site.

I’d also like to recommend for one of your future updates to add shortcode to your plugin.

    Thank you,
    Brad
