• i’m a reasonably decent PHP coder.. I’m somewhat hesitant to make the switch to this software because of all my lovely B2 hacks. So in the short term I’m going to stick with my heavily hacked B2.
HOWEVER that doesn’t mean I can’t do features for WordPress. I’ve literally got tons of them. One I would like to do first is a subscription type hack for WP where by subscribers are notified of the updates to the blog (already have this at my website.. So if WP isn’t radically different from B2 I can provide this hack pretty hassle free. Caveat however is that it requires a database of it’s own.

  • I know how you feel. I’m hesitant to try and migrate to the latest/greatest version of WP due to all the hacks I’ve done.
I whipped up an email notification system for my photoblog last night, seems to work pretty well. Requires one additional table in mysql.
As with the other stuff I’ve hacked in, when I find time I’m hoping to write up some documentation and throw the source out there so others can use it. ??

I’ve thrown up the code for my little email notification hack.. It’s not really documented, but if you’re somewhat familiar with PHP, you should be able to get it going.
