Hi Yannick Lefebvre @jackdewey and thanks for the great plugin.

I have not yet installed it, but have been experimenting with your demo, and have a couple of questions please.

    (1) I noticed the thumbnail generation seemed to screenshot the homepage, rather than the specific article url (I used links to the BBC site). Also, can the thumbnail auto-generate from the page featured image? (Like when sharing on socials).

    (2) Can your plugin display dates easily? I have a lot of links, so need the date of the published article (or date I add it) to appear.
I would also like a simple way to display only the most recent links for each category. Or would you suggest tags, eg: (2023-12, 2024-01…)

    Thanks ??

I’m continuing to experiment with your demo – very useful!

    (2) – update – I found the date field in Library Config – Advanced settings, so my questions now are:
(2a) can I customise the date field, eg: 2024-01
(2b) can the date be pulled from the source link? (rather than local link published or updated dates).

    Thanks. ??

    1) I just ran some tests and the thumbnails I generated are for the specific URL I entered and not for the top URL. Which thumbnail generator do you have selected under Global Options > Thumbnail Generation? The test I just ran was with Google PageSpeed.

It’s the first time someone asks to be able to get the featured image instead of a thumbnail. What would the thumbnail generation mechanism do if no featured image is specified?

2a) You can modify the date format to be displayed by going to the Global Options section of the plugin admin.

2b) No, Link Library cannot pull dates from the source link.

    1) I was using the default (Robothumb) so I’m guessing Google Pagespeed will generate as required (I decided not to use this feature for now).

2a) Link Library > Global Options > General > Links Date Format ??

    2b) no problem
