Featured video not showing

    Hi!
    This is just what i was looking for, but, after a while configuring the plugin, api etc, it’s a pity that i can’t make it work ??
    I’d like to show fullscreen featured video in a page: it replaces featured image with the first image of the video, but still image. I think all is working well, but the video doesn’t play. Any idea, please?

    Hi Javi,

    Can you please give me an URL where I can see this? The theme you are using is a premium theme and I can’t test to check where the problem might be.

    As a note, if the plugin can’t replace the featured image, this is caused by the fact that your theme doesn’t use the default WP functions for displaying the featured image. Unfortunately, when this happens, there’s nothing that can be done about it; VideographyWP needs to hook to the image filter implemented into the WP function that displays the featured image so it can replace the image with the embed.

    Hi!!
    The plugin CAN replace featured image. And it’s shown where video is supposed to be shown instead.

    I see the query video section, and it queries a youtube video link properly. Then i can set video settings in page editor. EMbed position: replace featured image. I can set other settings, and i can see the video in backend. But the, when i open the page, y just can see the fairst frame of the video, as featured iamge.

    I don’t know how to share the url if the site is in maintenance mode… ups!

    Thank you but unfortunately I can’t see the page where you display the video. I can’t be of any help unless I can debug and see what could be wrong, sorry.

    Hi,

    Thank you. I assume the featured image is the full image displayed at the top of the page. Please note that the plugin will replace the featured image only if your WP theme uses the default function the_post_thumbnail() to display the image.

    This is needed because in WP there’s a filter that allows the image to be replaced with the embed. If your theme uses a different mechanism that doesn’t implement the filter, replacing the featured image is impossible. I believe this is your case and sadly there’s nothing that can be done about it, I’m sorry.
