Featured video not showing

  • Hello,

    I am using Foodie Pro child theme. The featured image is displayed on the homepage which I wanted to replace with featured video for the posts for which I have a video.

    I added the Genesis Featured video plugin and added my youtube video link but the homepage still shows the featured image. Currently I’ve tried it only on one blog post: https://www.myweekendkitchen.in/vegan-leek-and-potato-soup-no-cream/

    Do I have to remove the featured image completely? My RSS feature uses featured image so I wonder if I remove it, if it will affect that.

    Hi @ashimagoyal it looks like you are using the standard featured posts widget on your homepage. You’ll want to replace that widget with the Featured Posts with Videos widget.

    See the FAQ’s for more information on how the Featured Posts with Videos widget works. You shouldn’t have to remove your featured images either, as is described in this FAQ.

    I did that – added the Featured Video widget in the homepage.

    But the video is still not showing. The post for which I have a featured video & a featured post, nothing is shown and the post for which I don’t have a featured video work fine with the featured image showing.

    [As you can see on my blog’s homepage : The Leek and Potato Salad has both featured image and video but nothing shows except for the title and text & the Til Ke Laddu is showing fine with the featured image as it doesn’t have a video]

    Can’t figure out what am I missing.
