Featured text no longer shows, only on one item

  • I just switched around the Featured Pages area on the front page, and came across a strange problem: Changes made to the center item worked perfectly, but changes made (both to the linked page and the entry text) to the first item simply don’t appear. If I leave the “Featured Text Area” blank, it pulls the top text excerpt from the linked page. However, I want to enter my own text for this area, as I’ve done with the other two Featured Pages. Any thoughts?

    You’ll see that the featured text under the first (left) item is blank, even though I’ve added and saved plain text in the Customizr “front Page” entry field.

  • Just to warn you, Nic has changed the FP feature in next release 3.0.8. which we think is imminent.

    FP1 contains … Any idea how that got there? Are you using the Excerpt feature of WP? I’m tracking a similar problem, and wondering if it is same/similar symptom?

    Just checked one of my sites and you get the excerpt if Customiz’it! entry is blank. So normally shows Page’s first 55 chars + …

    Unfortunately I’m trying to not use the default (pulled from the first characters of the page) text, and instead entering it in the excerpt area. The bizarre thing is that’s how I have it on my other two FPs, but this one just won’t take…

    Does your text include any special characters? What happens if you replace it with a blank (not empty, but one spacebar)? Do the three dots disappear?

    interesting! Putting in a space does make the three dots disappear, so it registered that. The text doesn’t have any special characters, I even manually typed it in (in case I was picking something up as I cut/pasted it) and it doesn’t show. I can’t figure out what I’m missing.

    Strange, I thought I’d answered this, but it must be lost in the ether somewhere.

    Could you post the text you are entering, exactly as you enter it and put it between backticks here? (Easily accomplished by selecting the text and clicking the code button above the editor window.)

    Well the text works fine for me if I insert it in the box. Strange.

    Have you tried updating to 3.0.8?

    I am having a slightly similar problem. On the center featured page, which I WANT to display the first words of text, are displaying the HTML code along with the text. This is only on the center featured page, but all 3 are formatted the same. Check it out, https://www.kizerincorporated.com/wp

    Looks OK in my Firefox 22.0

    I did a workaround – and just placed the text I was having a problem with into the text box on the “Front Page” tab. Thanks for your help.
