  • Hi Tim. What options to you have selected in Customize > Content > Blog Design > Featured Posts?

    Hi bdbrown.

I’ve checked: Feature posts on top of your blog

Under: ‘Select a category to feature’ I left ‘Choose one’ because I want the block to display my latest posts

    Featured Post Count = 4

And I checked ‘Animate your Featured Posts…’

The Featured Posts container isn’t being generated. Could be a plugin conflict. What happens if you disable all your plugins? If that fixes it you can enable them one at a time to find the one causing the issue.

    removed; wrong topic.

    Hi BD,
I removed all the plug-ins, but still nothing showed up. Annoying thing is, after reinstalling the plug-ins Jetpack stopped working. Sigh…
    Anyway, any other suggestions?

    Thank you

I had same problem after wordpress update (4.5) Problem was in js conflict and jquery couldn’t load slider…

There is no JS/jQuery conflict between WP 4.5.3 and Hueman 3.1.6. The default theme will load the featured posts slider if it is configured correctly. If the slider is not loading it’s due to some other conflict. Potential causes could be plugins, child theme template modifications, child theme functions, custom script files, the list goes on. There are only two ways you will figure out what’s causing the problem; (1) start disabling/removing plugins/customizations/etc. until it works, or (2) start with a clean theme that works, and start adding plugins/customizations/etc. until it breaks.

    @octamediator – please read @denzel’s note above.

Hi, I’m having a problem with the ‘featured posts’ feature too and I was hoping someone could please give me some help.

The problem is that I can’t even configure it because there is no Customize > Content > Blog Design panel in the theme settings. I have an edited child theme but the ‘Blog Design’ options panel wont even appear in the parent theme. I’ve looked in every panel and every setting but there are no ‘featured posts’ related options anywhere and I’m kind of frustrated already. What am I missing? (apart from this ‘Blog Desing’ panel, obviously).

It seems to me that this may be a dumb option or setting that I may have checked and forgot somewhere in wordpress or the theme options (although I’ve already looked everywhere there) and now I’ve disabled this ‘Blog Design’ panel. I can’t think of anything else, any Ideas?

    Appreciate the help!

    Hi,

First of all, in the future.

This is an old thread which is not monitored.
I was pinged by one of the user to assist in your request, if not your request will go unnoticed.

    Now back to your request.
The theme author has renamed the section.
The new path is in Appearance -> Customize -> Content -> Post Lists Design and Content

Please see my screen-cast which shows you the location.
    https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cDXDfsQcb6

You need to have posts tagged to a category.
You need to go to Appearance -> Customize -> Content -> Post Lists Design and Content
Find the setting -> Feature posts on top of your blog
check the checkbox, in order to activate that section.

Next, you will need to go to the next setting -> Select a category to feature
to select your category, so that the posts get shown in the slider.

Save Changes when you are done.

That’s all you need to do.

Please open a new thread if you require further assistance.
I will not be monitoring this thread.

    Thank you
