Featured Picture on Home Page

Hello,

Would you please explain what you actually want?

I want to add a featured image + meta description to the home page (front page). No specific page is chosen to be the home page, but simply the standard. I see no alternative as how to add a featured image nor meta description.
(To the other pages and posts there are no problem)

You can create a new page with frontpage template (See screenshot https://prntscr.com/f1dazh ) and set this page to display static front page from the customizer.
Now you can add meta description just by edit this page and featured image also
Note: this featured image will not show on homepage.

There is no front page template available with the Zerif Lite theme.

I’ve used Yoast’s SEO until recently. Now they have removed these functions in the free version.

I just updated the Yoast plugin and the option is still there. Go to Settings->Reading and see what frontpage displays option you have. If you have it set to “Your latest posts” then the option will appear in Title & Metas-> Homepage, for the featured image you need to set it in Social and enable open graph.

If you have it set to “A static page” then on the page which you have set for your front page, you need to add your description and featured image in the Yoast settings, the featured image when sharing will automatically be what you set as the featured image in the post.

Hello, that’s strange, please contact YoastSEO about this to see if they could assist further, I’m on the latest version (4.9) and I could see the Title & Metas option
