Featured page excerpts

    When Edin installed on wordpress.com there is an option to specify an excerpt of text which is what shows on the front page for the featured images.

    On self hosted version, there is not an option to specify the excerpt on pages.

    Is there a way to do this..?

    As you see, there is too much text showing for the featured pages – I need to specify what I want to show here.

    I’m a novice, so simply worded help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi taratibby – did you figure out how to add an excerpt or do you still need help? I noticed this thread is marked as resolved.

    If anyone is missing the Excerpt box, you can un-hide it by making sure the Excerpt box is checked off under the Screen Options panel at the top of the page:
