Featured listings?

There are probably several ways to do this, but one idea is to add a checkbox field (possibly an admin field) that designates the record as “featured.” Then, when displaying the list of records, you can use that field as a sorting field, which will place the featured ones at the top of the list.

If you want to do something with CSS to change how they are displayed, that will be more complicated, the plugin doesn’t have a built-in way to assign a classname to a record display based on the value of a field. You can, with a little coding knowledge, use a custom template to achieve this.

Another possibility is to use a separate list shortcode that shows only the featured records, which you can accomplish using a list shortcode filter.

Many thanks for the detailed reply, much appreciated. I think we probably would want to do more than just change the sort order, some kind of graphical flourish would also be appropriate for these “featured” items, so if that’s possible with CSS and a custom template I think we’ll try that way first.
