    I’ve worked my way through all of that list except the manual re-install. You’ll forgive me if I want to hang back on that, just this minute. This seems to be an issue a lot of people are having, so I’m hoping there is a better solution than “turn it off, then turn it back on again.”

    I have very similar issue from 5.9 also. However, I have recognized if I refresh the editor several times (pushing CTRL+F5 in Chrome), then sometimes the Feature Item and Categories come back. This is totally random (for me the Tags also disappears).

    I also have recognized if I deacitvate all of my plugins, then it is quite stable, but when I turn back more and more plugins one-by-one, slowly it starts to be instable by showing or not showing the missing panels in the editor.

    I’m quite sure there is something timeout issue in the WordPress Core. The issue still exist in the 6.0 version.

    Some updates, just FYI: with the Chrome’s debug tool (CTRL+SHIFT+I) I have realizead lots of 503 “Service Unavailable” HTTP errors, when the panels are missing. I have searched my service provider and they claims the root cause is I have achieved the hardware limitations of my package. I am debating with them, because on one hand my site has approx 5 visitors per day only, on the other hand the issue is on the admin area. I still don’t know the solution, but currently they are investigating my problem on their side.

    I have just upgraded a site to WP 6.0.1 and I have the exact same issue with posts.

    tags, categories, and featured image options do not load or take 4 or 5-page refreshes.

    I have done the usual of disabling all plugins and reverting back to the default theme, with no joy. And my hosts said the issue is with Wp, and not my hosting, as I have plenty of resources.

    the main 500 errors I get are:
    …wp-json/wp/v2/taxonomies?context=edit&per_page=100&_locale=user
    …wp-json/wp/v2/themes?context=edit&status=active&_locale=user
    …wp-json/wp/v2/posts/1424?_locale=user
    …/?_wp-find-template=true

    Some authors on our blog are facing the same issue, @gyfters. Did you manage to fix it? How? Thanks.
