Featured images on pages not showing

You need to check the option Display featured image as header cover when editing the page to show the featured image. See my screenshot https://share.getcloudapp.com/04uYvv9O.

But the image comes up disproportionate and cropped, see my screenshot https://imgur.com/a/CDj5pnp
Can the image be somehow adjusted? Maybe it can show up the same way it does for posts? Or else the only way would be to use only really wide images, which would be really inconvenient..
