Featured images not change after cropped and updated

    Thanks so much for your help all first.

    I want to crop the featured image but after I crop and save as well as update the featured image, it still shows the original one with no changes. I think maybe because of the cache or something due to the url address of the image is not changed. I tried to add a filter on the featured image and it generated a new image, only in this way, it changed, otherwise, I need to upload a new one. But it will be so complicated to handle this problem if I need to operate in every post or page.

    Greatly appreciate for the help!

  • Hi,
    After you crop your image using image editor on WordPress, the image link is changed. So you need to re-choose your featured image after you crop the image.

    I trid what you said, rechoosing the cropped image, but it does not work either. I even removed the featured image and rechoosed the cropped one. In the edit page, I can clearly see the featured image is changed, but somehow, it does not change when I upload.

    If both image name is same then it will taake time to reflect , open featured image seperately and refresh that or change image from png to jpg if image is png
