Featured images appearing twice on my Mailchimp emails
-
This started around two weeks ago. The emails from my Mailchimp campaign shows same featured image twice although the blog post has only one featured image. Could someone please help?

If you have two images, one cause is an image in the body as well as a featured image, and the other is having another plugin or the theme also including the image in the feed. Has your theme or CSS changed? Have you looked at other conflicting plugins? Does your post use the first image in body or a featured image uploaded to the post? Please provide details so I can help troubleshoot further.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
No, I am not using any body images. Also, I have not changed the theme or CSS.I am not sure how to check for conflicting plugins.
This is how it looks in the campaign email.

Please let me know if you have questions. Thanks,
MaheshWith the free version, there’s only a few possible ways multiple images show up in the feed:
– Having body images at the top of your posts, which isn’t the case here.
– Another plugin or the theme is now also adding featured images to the feed, and deactivating all other recently added or updated plugins can help pinpoint which one is the cause. Look for any other plugins that mention RSS feed, try deactivating them, and view your raw feed or refresh the feed within Mailchimp.Mailchimp also caches the feed quite often, so adding ?nocache123 to the URL can help.
If you can’t find the source of the issue, please include your raw feed URL, and we can try and determine from the source HTML where it’s coming from.
Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
I cannot pinpoint the source of the issue.
Is this the raw feed that you asked from me?https://thethriftystudent.com/feed/
Thanks,
MaheshYep, in your raw feed, I’m seeing the linked IMG that our plugin is adding, with some specific CSS classes, but then I’m also seeing a separate image added with responsive images as well.
To verify, you’re not using the Premium version of our plugin, correct? It does have an option to use Media Tags, which can result in double images – but it also has an image to use only Media Tag image, which fixes it. If using the free version, this does not apply, and you can read below for more troubleshooting.
I would suggest temporarily deactivating plugins such as Content Views – Post Grid & List for WordPress, and see which plugin is adding the images.
Or, if possible post a list of the installed plugins, perhaps I can help pinpoint which one would be also adding images to the RSS feed.

Thanks for your reply… the list of plugins looks good, I don’t see any obvious plugins that I would suspect.
I can only suggest that you Deactivate our plugin, and then report back if BOTH images are no longer being output.
If that’s the case, then there’s some cause of the two different images by our plugin, and I will have to try and reproduce it on one of our test sites right away. Please let me know.
Ok, I will try deactivating the plugins and will let you know.
I would really like to nail down the cause of the extra image in your RSS feed… have you tried deactivating our own plugin, and see if BOTH images disappear?
If one is still left, continue to deactivate one plugin at a time, check the raw feed, and see when the other image disappears from the raw feed. That last plugin caused it, and you can make a note of it and report back. Then reactivate our plugin, and you should be left with only one image.
If all plugins are deactivated and one image is still shown, then it must be your theme or code added to your theme’s functions.php file that is adding the image, and that should be reversed, to take advantage of our plugin’s features such as sizing, alignment, and the custom CSS classes we add for full compatibility with RSS services.
I look forward to hearing back from you on this.
I deactivated your plugin and now one image is left. Okay, I will do as you told me. I will try deactivating one plugin at a time until I don’t see any images. Then I will reactivate your plugin. Thanks
Ok great, please let me know which plugin it was, or if it was your theme, or code in your theme’s function.php file or other code snippet added.
Could you please tell me where that image is from my raw feed? I still have your plugin deactivated and trying to find out the cause of this extra image to appear.
Hi there,
I am not able to tell much, the image is displaying at 1024px wide using Jetpack’s image CDN https://i0.wp.com/thriftystudent.com/… with class “attachment-large size-large wp-post-image”, perhaps it’s Jetpack adding it? Have you tried deactivating it or turning off any image-related options to see if the image goes away? Then reactivate our plugin if that image is gone?
Since you seem to be on the free trial of our Premium version, feel free to contact us using https://support.5starplugins.com/ and we can help you dig into this further.
Hi there, just following up on this, and haven’t heard from you regarding the extra image being seen… were you able to find/remove the source of it?
I realize after looking again, the Code Snippets could have code that is adding images to the RSS feed.
Please let me know if you still need help with this.
I am having the same problem
