• Good morning wonderful people
I changed and re-integrated the link for my entire top level menu, since I previously had issues with. The top level menu issue which I previously had, which when clicked upon becomes a page, which I didn’t want.below are the few changes I made to the top level menu as suggested by Sir Dave.”Now replace the top level Menu items with a link:
    URL = #
Link Text = About Us (for example)”.

Here’s the URL to my project:www.utlebe.com,kindly check the respective top level menu,as I have deleted all the pages created with the top level menu names, and created a link for them instead.

All of this worked fine and perfect, but I noticed all of the images I assigned to the feature image link to the following respective menu:About Us,Our Serrvices, and Contacts, had gone. Now the question is how do I setup a featured image that is linked to the respective top level menue as mentioned in this context?. Because I have gone to the customize section, and I happen to notice the afromentioned menu aren’t appearing and they are also not appearing in the page category, because I only envision creating a featured image for: about us,contacts & services. Thanks ??

  • I think you moved the goalposts Josh!

You are right though, my previous solution does not work for this new use-case.

But let’s get this use-case clear before we try a solution. Previously, we took away any links to the About Us page as you didn’t want to go to an About Us page, you wanted to go to the sub-menu links.

But now you want About Us to be one of the 3 FP links. So what page would that link go to?

Definitely Sir, I moved the goal post *Love you literature expression herein*

Relative to my *new-use-case*, I want the 3 *FP-images to be linked directly to the *About-Us page—sub_menu—Who we are*—in as much as I want this I don’t want the sub_menu to be reflected on the front page.

Secondly I want the *Our Services—-don’t know what sub_menu to include as there are over 6 services in this parent menu, should there be no solution to this Sir,will definitely go for contract dredging and dewatering Sir,but equally don’t want this to be reflected as the main image attached to the front page featured image.

Thirdly Sir, for the *Contacts—sub_menu__contact form***, should this be the way out Sir, I will jump in, trust me(smile)….

    And thanks once more…..

Can’t see that that would be logical, having a FP link pointing at a sub-menu item.

I’ll try to think how we might resolve this, but it won’t be tonight.

Definitely Sir,at your pace as your student is willing to let his *Master* take his well deserved rest. Non the less, won’t want to stress my *Master*…Thanks for creating solutions relative to a well nourished experience in-lieu with my *Bugs_Questions*

Do have a well deserved night rest,

Even it doesn’t point to a sub_menu, a *code* or a *snippet*(as I have known it to be called) that enables me add a featured image in the front page with a link to About_Us,Our_Services and Contacts respectively. Without over stretching the broad scope….Or a feature image to about_us,Our_services and contacts without been a link,as long as the featured image enables me to point it to about us and the likes without been a landing page link itself Sir.

OK, here’s a new solution (possibly).

You’ll have to reset your menu parents back to Pages (not Links) and include the FP images as before.

Now use the Redirection plugin to redirect the top-level url to the submenu item, so you’ll have 3 entries.

Tested and it works for me.

Hello Sir,really appreciate every bit of your response.
Haven taken time in thinking, reviewing, restructuring and scouting for my exact idea on how to literarilly kill this project as a newbie+++..

I can officially say I have found a site synonymous to my exact idea from page layout that still keeps the parent menu as pages intact without converting them to links as previously done*changed the goal post several times, but now this is it*.

Here’s the site that has same layout with the parent menu been intact, love this structure. But I believe the customzr theme can do something more super to that, with epic instructions and directions I know I will this will be it.

    Thanks Sir,
    kind regards.
