Featured Image won’t save when Polly is active

I found a temporary workaround. If the featured image is set in the “Featured Image 2” spot, it is shown on the page, and even with Polly active, the image saved when the page is updated.

This is not a great solution because the feed of related images relies on Featured Image 1.

Thx @txbobu for information about problem. I got info about simillar issue alrady from somebody so I see that there is some kind of problem. I will deep dive into it, and we will fix it (good that you have found temporary workaround!). To be honest I have tested this problem on clean WP but I wasn’t able to replicate it, perhaps it’s connected with theme – so thx for pointing out which one you are using!

I had this exact problem after upgrade. I deactivated and reactivated plugin and the problem went away.

Perhaps it is theme related due to a conflict. I tried de/reactivating and still had the problem. Avada has a page builder called Fusion Builder. I made a new post and purposely didn’t invoke the Fusion Builder, but also still had the Featured Image problem.

When the Polly plugin came out, I was a day one adopter and that version worked fine for me without any issues (on same site/theme).

I have installed Avada but still I’m not able to replicate the problem ://

@tstachlewski are you at WPEngine? I have the same issue on two sites. Perhaps we can clone one of those sites for you to diagnose and work with.

Here is how I fixed the issue…

I chose the option to host the audio files on an s3 bucket and this worked for me. Not sure why but its working

That’s great to know. I want to avoid connecting to S3 since I have enough server space to store the files already. But this info may help @tstachlewski with his troubleshooting. Thanks!

@txbobu – I was able to find the issue, it will be fixed in next release (for sure in next 2 weeks).

Just wanted to chime in and say that I am also having the problem (featured image is removed when Polly is enabled). We tried rolling this out on Friday for a client who has hundreds of blog posts, and after doing the bulk update all of the image were removed. Yikes! (Thank goodness for backups).

@tstachlewski, I’ll be eagerly looking forward to the next update ?? Also, I’m curious as what would cause this issue.
