• Your plugin works just fine – thanks.
I want to know if it is possible to have featured images displayed (and thumbnails) via an external url WITHOUT uploading to the WP Media Gallery?

We have a separate image repository and don’t want to double up by uploading to WP as well.

I’ve found a plugin that will display an external url as featured image in a post, but not as thumbnail.

Is this possible? Can your plugin be modified to handle it?

thanks for your guidance on this question.

Sorry, this plugin cannot do this now. After uploading to WP gallery, the image can be processed to different sizes for different situations.

I hate to say this but that is kind of pointless plugin, since you can do that in WordPress now with uploading to media library. People want to save space on host not use it up by uploading to WordPress. You think someone by now would of thought of fixing that in WordPress by now. How long has WordPress been available, and that feature is not here? Since 2003 or 2005? I can’t remember when WordPress was started, but a long time now.

Now, by searching online for some kind of workaround, and all I see is a plugin for $9.99 that would do it, but I have no income at the moment to pay for something that should or could have been add free from WordPress developers. Oh well, guess I wont be adding much images for a portfolio on my website due to this.
