    Hi

I want to use featured images, but when I set a featured image it is huge (full width) in the post. Is there any way I can reduce the size? I am confused by the threads I have seen, which all seem to say the featured image should use the thumbnail size.

There doesn’t appear to be a size setting in Ephemeris, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Ian

    Hi Ian,

The Featured Image width will adjust automatically if/when you change the width of your layout. The site width can be found in the Site Layout > Content Width panel within the Customizer (Appearance > Customize menu option). By default, the main content width is 1200px wide.

If you’re using the default layout for your blog posts, the theme will display the content in 75/25 columns (i.e. 75% for the main content and 25% for the right-hand sidebar).

The Featured image size will automatically adjust to fit the full width of that 75% column. You can see an example of the default Blog layout on my Demo site – https://demo.skyrocketthemes.com/ephemeris/blog/

If you don’t want your image to be as tall as the ones I have in my demo site, simply reduce the height of your images before uploading them.

If you want to create your own custom Featured Image size, then you’ll need to do that manually in your Child Theme.

    I hope this helps.
