• Hello,

I’ve changed the theme on my website and I am reworking my Portfolio.

And all of a sudden the images I’ve uploaded in the last week have much lower quality when set as Featured Image then images I uploaded last year and which are already in Media Library.

How is this possible and how to fix it?

Please check the screenshots. On the 1st one the middle image is clearly blurred when compared to the other two. On the second screenshot compare the one on the left with the one on the right. The right one was uploaded last May and the left one last week.

All of these images are PNGs and have the same size – 1500x1100px the original.
I’m on the latest WP 5.4.

    Thank you for any help.

  • Just to add, you don’t have any image compression plugins installed, even something like Jetpack, right? And all of the images embedded into the page are the same size as upload size and embed size can often be different.

No compression plugins installed. But it seems that it is a matter of a WP theme.

The previous one had created different sizes which are completely different from the sizes created by the new theme.

I guess I will have to find out what exact sizes are being used by this new theme and then figure out how to set up the sizes manually.

Crazy. It’ll take me some hours I guess.

    Well, thanks for help anyway!
