Featured image other input way?

  • Hi,
    im using the normal formular to upload the featured image.
    For this you have a l8ink for a popup and there you can upload images or including from a link or the wp media.
    This popup loads to long for me and i just want a field to upload an own image.

    Is there a possibility in the form-file (i already have an override) to implement the image just over a input type file field or another solution just to avoid the popup?

    Not really, as you would have to build your own upload handler and integrate it, as the featured image has to be stored in wordpress as a “normal” image to work.

    You can still select media that already has been uploaded.
