Featured Image on Story page takes while to load

  • Love the theme and have been began using it on my site.

    One issue I noticed:
    When I load a story page, the page first loads quickly, but the featured images take a bit to load.

    This effect is even visible on the demo site. https://canarddemo.wordpress.com/2015/03/25/new-york-city/

    I haven’t been able to find a solution to this in my child theme.

    Anyone else notice this?
    Is there a solution to this?

  • Hi there! According to the theme info (in the Quick Specs box), the size for Featured Images is 1920 wide by 768px high.

    Are you using images close to that size and optimized for the web? If not, try editing one image on a post to that size (and maybe reduce the file size — like with a tool like https://compressor.io/) then see if that helps.
