    Hi everyone,

I’ve been using a WebP plugin for image optimization on my WordPress site, and everything was running smoothly until I recently upgraded the plugin. Since then, I’ve encountered a serious issue where the plugin seems to be hitting the server multiple times, causing my website to not load properly and resulting in a 409 Conflict error.

The multiple server hits are significantly affecting the performance, and the site is timing out or displaying the 409 error due to the conflict.

Has anyone else experienced this issue after upgrading a WebP plugin?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @acub123,

    Thank you for your message.

This error indicates a server overload error. It’s usually a temporary error caused by the hosting. We’ve never seen a problem like this from our plugin with the default plugin settings, so it’s hard for me to help you with this.

We recommend consciously changing the plugin settings, especially in the “Image loading mode” field. Changing to Pass Thru mode there may cause additional load. The plugin warns against changing this mode, so it is worth reading the instructions in the warning.

    Best,
    Mateusz
