Featured Image not working as expected

Any ideas on how to make the featured image show at its uploaded resolution? It seems to want to make the featured image HUGE, and I just want a tiny image showing on each event (logo of the event sponsor).

No matter what size I use to upload the image, TEC makes it very large in the events list. It looks terrible and blurry, plus it doesn’t work well visually (even if it weren’t blurry).

I’ve uploaded an image that is 75 x 35 to one of my events. It looks so bad that I can’t keep it there, but I took a screen shot. I’m trying to figure out how to include that here. It blew up the logo to the same width as the date and time of the event, and moved the excerpt to the right.

It seems like it should keep the image at the uploaded resolution in the events list – automatically. I want to have a standard width that will work, so I end up with a great look for events and the logo of the event host on the list screen.
