Featured image not updating

    Hi – the Travey theme page template includes a cover image – the default is a landscape with balloons. When I create a new page with this template, the option exists to update featured image, which I assumed would replace the balloons image, but it doesn’t change on the page, even after clearing cache. I have the Yoast plugin, which shows the updated image in Google preview, so I know it is there somewhere, but I need to know how to make it appear. Any help appreciated thanks

    Hello @ciaranrowe

    The balloon image is actually built using cover block which at the moment only use static image, not featured image.
    If you need to add featured image to the page’s template, you can add a block named “Post Featured Image”.

    Thanks @yogajegstudio – that’s working perfectly now. Can you also let me know is there a way to create multiple page templates? I would like to have an option for some pages to have a feature image, but others to have a slightly different layout ( header & footer will remain the same.

    Yes you can assign a different custom template to each page.

    But at the moment there is no feature from WordPress to add new custom template from the editor.
    You need to create a child theme for your current active theme.

    Then inside the child theme, create a folder named template and then inside the template folder you can create a file named page-template-2.html.
    After that, inside the editor, you can find an empty template you just created named page-template-2.
