• Even when uploading and setting a “Featured Image” in a blog post, it does not get picked up by thumbnail parsers across social media sites like Facebook. Posts of links to individual posts just show the site logo. Site logo should not overwrite “Featured Image” designation, though it’s a reasonable fallback if one is not defined.

    Bumping. Example.

Several theme updates in the changelog, nothing about this problem. Does nobody else share blog post links to platforms like Facebook or LinkedIn? Or is everyone okay with the wrong image (or no image) showing up?

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting,

This is working well at our end.

You can see it here in the screenshot this is the post with the featured image https://prnt.sc/JPHKGBXBXpRd

After sharing the post on Facebook using the below sharing icon on the post page you can see the same images appear https://prnt.sc/okJ9PQHocLY_

You also check it from our demos.

If there is any confusion let us know

    Thanks & Regards

Thank you for finally replying. Are you saying the featured image doesn’t populate on social platforms unless you use the share buttons on the post?

The featured image should be specified for each post in the metadata of the page, for example an og:image value:

    https://ogp.me/

These are respected and supported by all the major platforms. I wouldn’t expect someone to use an embedded share button. Can this be implemented? It seems a straightforward value to populate in the header.
