Hi I am using a free version of Yoast SEO Version 15.4. It worked very well for a long period of time when I would post a link to Facebook or Twitter. In the link I provided, the image will not show on Facebook or Twitter but older posts such as the link below show fine.

    https://stillunsolved.com/unsolved-mysteries-rewind-ep30-ice-woman-airline-murder-silicon-valley-hit-florida-crime-spree-elvis-and-twinless-twins/

    Facebook Debugger states the following:
    Curl Timeout
The request to scrape the URL timed out.
    Curl Error
    Curl error: 28 (OPERATION_TIMEOUTED)
    Inferred Property
The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
    Missing Properties
    The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

I reached out to my host who replied:
“I can see that the curl appeared due to timeout error due to timeout settings being set only to 60sec, so I have increased your time out to the maximum allowed one of 240sec this should resolve the curl error for you”

But no change when I rescrape which leads me to believe it is user error on my end.

When I look at the source code of the pages the og:image tags are there and seem correct

Under the snippet section, I noticed it does in fact show the featured image in the Mobile Result but shows no image in the Desktop Result.

May I know if I did something wrong? I hate posting without the featured image ??

@alvysyngr ?We checked on the page https://stillunsolved.com/unsolved-mysteries-rewind-ep33-jesse-james-hollywood-rider-down-bad-dad-and-picture-kristen-gone/ and do see that the plugin is outputting Open Graph data correctly for Facebook (see image here).

However, upon checking the page in the Facebook sharing debugger here we see that Facebook is unable to scrape the data and is showing ‘Curl error: 28 (OPERATION_TIMEOUTED)’ error, which means that the data from the page is not being loaded.

?In regards to the Curl Error 28 message, this can occur when there is a communication issue with the protocol. If you continue to receive the message this can be due to a slow server or firewall and would recommend having your server administrator perform a Curl test from your server to Facebook.

Also, other reasons why Facebook may not be able to receive all the data on your page may be due to the server response time when the request is made being too long, or that your server is somehow limiting or restricting Facebook’s access to your page.

Thank you for getting back to me and it rises interesting questions but if that’s the case why is it happening to only some new posts and not all? I am trying to figure out if it’s the graphic I am posting that is somehow not being seen by facebook but I don’t see any difference in the new posts vs the old

    @alvysyngr

While we scrapped both the old post and new post multiple times doesn’t show the cURL error and og:image error anymore as you can see on the following screenshots:

    https://prnt.sc/vuqgqf
    https://prnt.sc/vuqgyw

This shows Facebook is still able to scrap your new posts OG information if you go to the debugger tool and perform multiple scrapping that clears the Facebook cache and help fetch actual information. This also shows cURL timeout error does not always happen on your posts but intermittently.

We suggest clear all your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like Cloudflare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider.
