Featured Image Not Included in Post

    After updating to Postie 1.8.5 yesterday I started encountering an issue where the featured image is not included in the post. For example, when I send two or more pictures via email to my website to be processed by Postie the first one uploads to the website successfully and is set as the Featured Image as intended. However, the featured image is not being included in the post itself. The following image(s) from the email are included in the post though just fine.

    In Postie > Image settings, I have “Use First Image as Featured Image” set to “Yes”.
    I also have the “Include Featured Image in Post” set to “Yes”.

    Besides updating Postie, no other changes were made. This isn’t an urgent issue but any advice would be appreciated as time permits.

    I’ve found and fixed this bug and it will be released shortly in 1.8.6.

    Thanks for developing an awesome plugin like Postie. It’s been a great work that simplifies many of WordPress users life. I’m using v1.8.22 but facing the same problem stated above. Can you please help? One more thing- the plugin takes too much time to post to WordPress site. Sometimes it takes almost an hour or more to be published. I’m using a Gmail email and followed your instructions to configure it. Would be very grateful if you can please provide me solutions for both the problem I’m facing with the amazing plugin Postie. I wish your success and a very happy new year.

    @aamaan FYI it is always good to start your own support topic, as typically the issue is different even if the symptoms are similar.

    Do you see a featured image assigned in the back end editor?

    Please also double check the “Use First Image as Featured Image” and “Include Featured Image in Post” settings.

    Also look at the “Check for mail every” setting.
