• I know these questions have been posted before, and I’ve been trying for days to work it out but can’t.

When I share this post (or any post) to LinkedIn/Facebook/Twitter, they do not display the featured image. My WP site is https. Does that stop them from pulling the images??

    Thanks in advance.

  • No, most likely the image size is the problem.

    Try this: https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/inspect/

Looks like your using a Social Plugin that is not setting the image properly

    Hi there. Thanks for responding.

The Linkedin inspector works fine, reports no problems. But it does not display the image. The image sizes are what LinkedIn recommend.

When you say it looks like a social plug-in is not setting the image properly, how do you know that / how can you see that?

Sorry, didn’t get back to you on this.

How can I tell? It says it was looking at og:image property (which is usually set by SEO plugins – perhaps WordPress is now doing this by default so may not be accurate.)

However, when I look at the issue again – go to the section: “Metadata that we gathered about this page:” >> Image: https://performancepotential.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/william-494556-unsplash_1200x628-e1553084747833.jpg

    Result:

If you are the webmaster of this site please log in to Cpanel and check the Error Logs. You will find the exact reason for this error there.

Common reasons for this error are:

    Incorrect file/directory permissions: Below 644.
In order files to be read by the webserver, their permissions have to be equal or above 644. You can update file permissions with a FTP client or through cPanel’s File Manager.

Restrictive Apache directives inside .htaccess file.
There are two Apache directives which can cause this error – ‘Deny from’ and ‘Options -Indexes’.

Looks like the image has permission issues
