Featured Image not displayed in Month View

I am using the new designs (v2) and I thought that it would automatically display the thumbnail of the featured image on all events in the month view but it looks like the thumbnail is only displayed when Feature Event is selected in the Events Options. I tried to look through the documentation and search but I was not able to find anything. I found the extension “Display the Event Featured Image in Month View” but says this is only compatible with the legacy view styles.

How can I display the featured images in month view without selecting “Featured Event” in the Events Options for all the events? Is this possible?
