Featured Image not changing

    Hello,

    The ‘Featured Image’ does not change when updating on the Front Page.
    I have tried removing the image and adding a new one and it just restores the previous, even if I delete the image.

    After disabling all plugins, testing new themes etc. I found that it is definitely caused by ACFE, but unsure how to resolve.

    All I can think is that it was caused by a field with ‘Featured thumbnail’ enabled on an image field, but after changing the Front Page and re-populating, the image was still the same.

    The site running WordPress v5.4 and ACF Extended is v0.8.5.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback. This can only be caused by an ACF field inside the field group that have the “Image as featured image” setting enabled. If such a field exists, then it will prime over the native WP featured image.

    You need to either manually delete both the image in the ACF field and the WP featured image metabox, or either disable the ACF field setting in order to get back to the native WP behavior. My general advise is: Disable the native WP featured image metabox rendering if you want to use this setting in a ACF field.

    It looks like your field groups has many fields and tabs. Can you please check if there is such a field setting in your field group?

    I just checked and you are absolutely right, looks like a field group that was cloned in was causing the issue.
