Featured Image is not showing after update to 3.9

  • Hello. I updated my wordpress installation from 3.8 to 3.9 recently and I discovered that the “featured Image” option does not show anymore for Posts. Featured image doesnt appear on woocommerce product page either. I thought it was the theme, I even modified the “add_theme_support( ‘post-thumbnails’, array( ‘post’, ‘page’, ‘movie’, ‘product’ ) );” to include products and posts, to no avail. I have also deactivated all the plugins.

    What can I do Please? My client is getting really frantic

  • I have the same problem, My client panicked and updated after the recent scare about wordpress using up all of the servers resources. I was on vacation and they updated without my knowledge…and since a week or more has passed all of the backups are now overwritten.

    The site appears to work fine but no featured images appear anywhere, not in the front page, the blog pages or in any slideshows. I have tried regenerating all the thumbnails and changing the permalink structure. still nothing appears. Switching to stock themes doesn’t remedy the issue either.
    I have disabled all plugins and then tried regenerating the thumbnails and the issue still occurs.

    I cannot save changes to themes either, not my main theme or even the wordpress built in themes, saving changes result in a 404 error.

    I can however, make changes to posts and pages.

    This is a 4 year old blog with over 8gb of content, very frustrating as it is killing traffic and the site was ranked in the top 40k of the world…and now dropping rapidly…and unfortunately the reverting back to an older version is not possible at this time.
