Featured Image in RSS feed after Postie Post

    I had a problem where the featured image did not show up in my RSS feed after posting via email to Postie. While the image worked for the actual post, it did not show up in the RSS. Please note that I already had a Featured image to RSS plugin installed and working for normal posts.

    It took me one whole day tearing my hair out to solve this issue. I tried everything and nothing worked. After 8+ hours of frustration (changing my website code and going through plugins, etc), I noticed that the thumbnails from the Postie images were not showing up in the WordPress media manager. It was such a simple answer in the end and I am kicking myself.

    Under the Image section in Postie’s settings, you need to change the ‘Generate Thumbnails’ setting to YES. Obvious really, however easy to miss……. so much time wasted on a simple setting………

    Sorry about the frustration. Not sure how it got turned off as it is on by default.

    No problems, all fixed now and happy everything is working. Seems so obvious now. I thought I should mention it here just so others don’t miss this.
