Featured Image Gallery for Child pages not populating after update

Hello everyone!

We just updated wordpress for one of our sites and have lost some content….

I had set up a parent page to display the featured image of child pages, and it looked great.
The featured images for the child pages populated onto the parent page in a gallery-like format and when the user would click on the featured image it would take them to the child page (naturally…). I know how to create a gallery on the page but it won’t allow me to link the images to the child pages. The only work around that I can think of right now is to create a table and insert the images into the table and then link those images… there was a much simpler way, I know there was!

I can’t remember how I had set it up and now that we did the update I’m not sure why it has gone away… The images were approx 250×250 and pulled the child page title with them and the title displayed across the image with a faint gray bar behind the text. Help please!
