First off, I submitted a support issue several months ago regarding taxonomies which you promptly addressed — thank you!

Now I’m experiencing a new issue on the current version (0.4.7):
The “Featured Image” frequency field is missing from the Generate Posts admin page, and featured images are not generated.

Ohh Thanks KerriM for reporting this bug.

So can you take a look at the Custom Fields, you should have a _thumbnail_id field there? Which is the new Way in which the Plugin will handle the Featured Images.

Please let me know, because if it’s not there it’s a bug.

    my Best Regards,

Sorry for the delay — I didn’t get a notification that you’d responded for some reason.

OK, yes, that _thumbnail_id field and its options are there.

I guess it’s not clear to me how to make the meta fields work.

I have the following under meta field rules, but it does not generate featured images:
    Type: Attachment
    Name: _thumbnail_id
    Configuration: Attachment ID
    PlacHold.it, Unsplash.it, Lorem Pixel
…but no Featured images are generated. Am I missing something?

    Hey Kerrim,

I just tested it’s working as expected, but now you have to set the weight to 100, check this screenshot.

That did it! Thanks for the super quick response. I thought the “Weight” field meant something completely different.

What would be the best “Label” for this field?

Can you explain its function? I actually don’t know what it does.

It means the percentage of Posts that will have that meta field. If we set it 50, means that half of the posts will not have a featured image.

Ah, OK, then it would make sense to have say “Rate”, not “Weight” —?like the rest of the times this setting is used.

I thought maybe that’s what it meant, but when I had left it at the default in previous attempts, I didn’t see that any of the generated posts had featured images. But maybe that was an oversight on my part and I had missed them.

Yup, it’s very confusing to call this field “Weight,” @bordoni. “Rate” is clear, especially with the help text below it (“Percentage rate of posts that will have …”). Should probably stay consistent with that wording – both the field name and the help text – otherwise we’re all bound to get a little confused. ??

Hi, I did all that still no featured images

Hi, thanks for making this plugin it’ll save a ton of time.

The featured image still isn’t showing up for all posts even changing the weight to 100. Also, I agree that the weight/rate terminology is really misleading. Why wouldn’t we want the options to be applied to all posts? This should be off by default but be able to add if needed. I don’t think you need to settle on one label, you could just write a short description of what that setting does.

    Thanks

@bbapache because you’d want to test the resilience of your website to test it wont error when suddenly 1 post does not have a featured image and falls over ??

But yeah maybe something like “% Chance of Applying the Above” ?? a mouthful but makes it more clear right?

I′, not getting any images with the posts!!!

the weight is set to 100, but still no featured images…

one test, I got this in the Media: media atatchment
