I’ve recently started using Robo Gallery to create galleries, then creating posts with the Galleries inside. All Good. I love the Robo Galleries!
But I’ve noticed that if I search within my blog the search results are a mix of blog posts and galleries. (Each having similar names, but the galleries having no ‘Featured’ images.)

Is there a better way of implementing / changing the search feature on my wordpress site? So the galleries themselves don’t show, just the blog posts containing them?

I was going to suggest am option in the gallery settings to choose ‘exclude this gallery from search results’, and suggest also that a featured image could be chosen, so at least when the do show up you can see what they are about.

Please someone let me know if I’ve missed something, and both these things are already simple things to fix!!

    Many thanks

OK, I’ve just installed ‘Search Exclude’ and that solves one of my queries!! Adds the tickbox ‘Exclude from Search Results’ to the galleries

    Thank you for your choice!

We have plans to implement cover / featured image functionality in Robo Gallery. For now it’s not implemented yet. In close future we’ll publish new Robo Gallery version 3.0 with new additional sets of functionality, interface update, new thumbnails hover effects, new front end layout, slideshow / slider mode.
Also we have plans to implement new search and general gallery architecture. Gallery hierarchy with cover (featured) image, new gallery menu.
Anther very important update it’s implementation of the page builders support. We’ll include add-ons for Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi Page Builder.
So in close future we’ll have much more interesting released in our gallery.
According to search. Thank you for your suggestion of the ‘Exclude from Search Results’, we’ll think about it. It’s really interesting functionality.
Also not sure if you tried to use build-in gallery search option? Did you try to enable this functionality? In our gallery we have few ways to use such a search in gallery images. First one it’s actually search option which enable search field on top of the gallery thumbnails. This mode work based on all text content which images contain. From image title, description, caption and tags. So you can use any word from this text and gallery show you properly results which gonna fit to your request.
Another interesting mode it’s menu switched to the tags. Every gallery image have tags field where you can define absolutely different, not limited amount of the tags. If you switch navigation to the tags you’ll see that gallery group this tags in menu on top. If you click on some tag gallery filter images to show only pictures with this tag.

Please let me know if you’ll have some other questions.

In the case if you’ll not be able to switch menu mode from gallery categories to tags please try to update your gallery key to the latest version.
