    Similar to this post:

I have debugged the issue by using only WP Twenty Twenty theme, and no plugins except of course USP. I still get the same result, regardless.

The image uploads to the Media library, and will only display as the Featured image when you actually go thru to the newly created post*.

Until that time*, there is no image available on the Blog page.

    * also, you can trigger the image to show if you refresh the Posts page in WP Admin. Very odd. BUT if you attempt two USPs, then view posts/refresh post admin page, only the most recent article gets its Featured Image.

    Please help!

Glad to help. I just re-tested the following setup:

    – Default WP + USP
    – Twenty Twenty theme
    – Post Status setting = “Publish Immediately

Then I went to a form and published a post and immediately went to the home page to view the post, and the image was displayed normally.

So there must be something different between the setup I just described and the setup that you are working with.. maybe you have a different setting for the “Post Status” option?

Thanks Jeff. I’m using “Publish Immediately”, too. Could it be something in my web hosting that’s affecting this?

What about the number of images that you are submitting at a time? Is it more than one?

Not sure about your hosting, et al. Too many variables to try and guess.

Nope, just the one. Set to Featured Image.

Are you using any caching scripts or services? It could be that images are getting cached when they are submitted, or something along those lines.

Yes, I’m using Litespeed plugin. I have tested with the plugin disabled and don’t see any difference. I have checked the .htaccess file after disabling the plugin and can confirm that the litespeed data gets removed upon the plugin being disabled. Agree, there could possibly be some residual side effect from Litespeed. I will try deleting the plugin altogether and report back to you.

Update – tried with Litespeed deleted, and then also with Wordfence deleted and still no difference. I have tried with another website using the same theme and plugins and it works fine. This second website is set up on a different host, so I’m thinking it’s likely something related to the hosting config.

Yeah sounds like it is a host-related issue. Please let us know if you are able to determine the specific cause of the issue, would be useful information for future reference. Either way, thanks for your feedback @sunfishmedia.

I’m having the same issue on my site as well. I have to click on the post, return, and then refresh the page for it to appear. I’d be more than happy to submit a donation if I could get this working properly.

UPDATE: I have this site installed on 3 different servers, from 3 different providers and all are giving me the same problem. I have stripped back the wp installation back to only the theme, theme plugins and USP plugin. What’s frustrating is that I have tried a “clean” install of the same theme and theme plugins and it seems to work :-/ Yet on my “problem” site, I can’t get it to fire. I’ve cleaned the DB of any residual data from removed plugins. Nothing works. This is so frustrating, I just can’t identify where this is coming apart. I don’t see any difference whatsoever with my “problem” site and “clean” site – they’re set up identically on the same server. Sadly, I’m going to have to abandon this plugin.

@shields123 I’ve replaced this plugin with WP User Frontend and it works a treat. Give it a try.

@sunfishmedia glad to hear you found a solution that works for your particular server setup. Cheers.

@shields123 If you can provide simple steps to recreate the issue on default WP install, I can investigate and try to help asap.

I am sure this was a conflict with the theme but I can’t change themes and didn’t have time to solve so I downloaded another plugin which worked immediately. Thank you
