“Featured Image” doesn’t display for a Page but does for a post

  • “Featured Image” seems not to display for a page in Scrawl theme — but works as it should for posts. I have examples of both in this blog I’m trying to setup. Tried this on multiple browsers and in classic and block editor modes. In Classic, I can see the image hovering up high, but it disappears when the page is published. Using current version of Chrome primarily, on OS X 10.14.1.

    Unrelated, I reported another bug in Scrawl (which I still really want to use!). I see a case was made for it and posted on GitHub. Wondering what became of this? Here’s a link to that: https://github.com/Automattic/themes/issues/650

    “Featured Image” seems not to display for a page in Scrawl theme

    I’ve done some testing and it appears the Scrawl theme only outputs featured images on posts, not pages.

    This issue is in line for developers to look at. However bugs are prioritised in order of severity and the number of sites affected, so for now, I’m unable to give you any timeframes on that.

    @gemmaevans Thanks for speedy reply. If you’re making a GitHub “ticket” for the initial reason I posted this (featured image issue on Pages), could you post a link to it here?

    Thanks for explaining the status with the initial bug I reported, and apology for not realizing I was posting to the wrong forum. Can you help me understand, however, if fixed bugs in WordPress-built themes rectify the bug for both FREE ([blogname].wordpress.com) AND paid (.org software) usages of same theme? That is to say, if the bug is fixed for your audience on this forum, is it also fixed for users like me that only need a simple/free pages and are okay with ads at the bottom?

    Finally, if you’re making a GitHub ticket for the featured image snafu, I’d love to see a link to that and lurk for hopeful repairs. Thanks so much in advance!

    If the site’s hosted at WordPress.com, reaching out to staff there rather than here in the .org theme forums will help: staff can verify the request is coming from the site owner and then dig in deeper to see if we can spot the issue.

    I noticed the site you linked here is deleted, though, so if you’re referring to a www.remarpro.com installation rather than that site, please do link to an affected page here so we can take a look.
