I’m not sure if this is theme or plugin related.

I have removed the right sidebar for posts and set the featured image max height to 300.

The problem is that no matter what size or proportions the featured image is, the image is always stretched sideways unless I set the height back to the maximum.

I’ve tried cropping the images before upload to the right size (Uploading a pre cropped image also messes up the featured contect section images) and also checking/unchecking post featured image span 100%, however it looks like without the right sidebar the image is always going to stretched to fit

Have you tried regenerating the thumbnails with the Regenerate Thumbnail plugin?

Also could you link to the site as it tends to help figure out what is causing any issues.

Hi,

I tried with Ajax Thumbnail rebuild. It seems to be using ‘post thumbnail 672×372’ for the featured image. I would have thought it would use ‘twenty fourteen full width 1038 x 536’

When I reduce the height to, say, 300, it apears to crop the image proportionally and then stretch it sideways to fit.

BTW, I tried with different sizes of image up 4,000 pixels wide

Unable to view site as its under construction and therefore not available to the public.

If you could post some screenshots over at https://wpdefault.com/forums/forum/fourteen-extended/ it would be of great help in trying to figure out the issue and a solution.

Hi Zulf,

Sorry, you should be able to see it now. You can just go to the home page at https://www.amkcustom.com and click on the featured post top left with the wheels… that shows the distortion best.
