I have regenerated the image and reduced it down to the dimensions I set on the general options tab (1223 X 1650). This image still doesn’t fit. Am I still doing something wrong?

You currently have the photon module of Jetpack enabled and the images are being served from their server – I believe the resizing is taking place on their end and not on with Fourteen extended or Twenty Fourteen.

    For example this image: https://i1.wp.com/saccographicnovel.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/proa-e1393434475820.jpg?resize=1038%2C576

I’d recommend disabling the photon module and then try the settings again – try with both the raw Twenty Fourteen and then with Fourteen extended to see if that resolves the issue for you.

Thanks for your help Zulfikar! Disabling the photon module allowed me to tinker with the image until it fit appropriately.

Thanks @zulfikar for providing the correct dimension for the featured images. I have just recently switched from 2013 into 2014 www.abinashmohanty.com, It’s quite useful. ??
Though I need to spend 2-3 hours for resizing existing photos including the child theme medication (css) as it’s running on parent site temporarily.

Hi, i have a problem with my images, i have selected Check to show full width single post my image is 1038 by 576 pixels, but for some reason it keeps showing the image as img width=”672″ height=”372 and it is full in the space, but makes my image blur. i will to display the bigger image.
    thank you!

I solve it , at widgets (if you got JetPack) you select hide your side bar on your posts, and Voilà, you get your pretty nice big image !
i think you can use too in case you want to show some side bar on your pages.
