Featured Image By URL optimisation

  • Hi Anton – I am looking for a way to optimise (scaling & resolution) product images that I display from external url (using FIFU plugin) on Woocommerce catalogue pages. Images are NOT in the medialibrary. Can your plugin handle this? I have Cloudflare, thinking to get Cloudflare Pro also for the image optimisation options.

    The challenge is that the product import API script imports new products with new external images urls almost every night . I could have FIFU add them to the medialibrary but ideally those external urls are automatically added to Cloudflare’s Image option.

    Hope my question is clear.

    Hi @bkotterink ,

    Technically it should be possible. However, for the file to get to Cloudflare, it needs to be downloaded by the plugin first. And I’ve had a look at the FIFU plugin, and it looks like they already offer CDN + optimized thumbnails feature. Wouldn’t that accomplish the same thing?
