• I find out the featured image to be a mystery. Actually it makes all the post one big risk since if the featured image turn out to be too big/too small/not there at all it makes people run a way from the post you are sharing. I tried checking for the size and found contrasting answers. I tried checking in help and looks like word press doesn’t pay too much attention of making the feature reliable.

    1. What is the best size for featured image?
    2. How can I make sure it will be just a small pic in a box near my post and not a huge pic under it which makes my post ridiculous?
    3. How can I see how the featured image will look on my share before sharing it?
    4. Why word press doesn’t have any preview mechanism to see how your post will look like with the featured image on twiiter, facebook, linkedin?
    5. Why when uploading a featured image there is no warning that it is too small/too big at all?

Featured image sizes are set and controlled by the theme, which is really the answer to 1, 2, and 5, you’ll have to check with your theme’s support.

    3. Generally, previewing the post should show this, but again that’s up to the theme.

    4. Twitter and LinkedIn do not have preview APIs. Facebook does, but it’s not public and buried inside their debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ In other words, there’s absolutely no way for WordPress to do this, because the networks haven’t provided a way for WordPress to do this.
