[featured category posts widget] divide title of posts

I want to create a kind of agenda in the sidebar. I’m giving workshops and want to have a list with the title and data. I’ve started to create a category agenda and add some posts to it. Now I’m using featured category posts widgetto show the posts title. In the title I’ve mentioned the date of the workshop. So far ok, it works.

But, I’m not liking it. I want to style the list to the following. First I want the workshopdate to be published on it’s own line with a background-color. On the next line I want the rest of the title to be shown.

The color isn’t a problem at all. But how can I divide the date in the title and the rest of the title? I thought I add the post-date instead of mentioning the dat in the title. But then he shows the postdate and not the workshopdate.
How can I work around this?
