    I have been showing events on the home page of my site, but only down a side panel. This is OK except for when the details on the event stretch to a lot of words.

    So far, I have been using two fields on my master database and only uploading the events that have a short description. That then means that the fuller events don’t show up on the page where I have all the events listed.

    It would be nice to have options to perhaps show just an extract of the event, and/or maybe a count of events for the day, allowing a link to the details page.

    That’s an interesting suggestion. TDIH is not really designed for very long event names, but it should be possible to offer a new option to shorten long names to say the first 60 chars and then show the full text with a hover-over event. I’ll look at adding that in a future release.

    From version 3.0 you can use the more tag to shorten event names and link them to an event “page” with as much text as you like.
