Feature suggestion: Anew import of table at every single page load

    Hi Tobias,

    I would like to suggest a feature that is in its function similar to your already existing extension “Automatic Periodic Table Import”.

    I think it would be great to have the possibility to have an external table file (csv/excel) imported anew every time the page it is displayed on is loaded. Yes, of course this would mean more work for the server CPU and so on, but it would have one significant advantage:
    One would simply need to replace the table file (csv/excel) on the (FTP) server in order to replace / update the table (which could be done by another person without giving this person access to the WP backend but just to a password secured FTP folder for example).

    Any which way you decide – keep up the excellent work!

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    I don’t really see what benefits this would have, compared to the Auto Import Extension – except for not being subject to a 15 minutes delay.

    Therefore, I don’t think that I’ll add this feature anytime soon, as it would also require a fundamentally different mode of operation of the plugin. Sorry.

    That is one hell of a good argument why my suggestion is not really necessary ??
