Feature Requests: WP Gallery caption; portrait image sizing; tags.

    Thanks for your great plugin ! ?? Hope you can help with a few things –

    (1) Using the WP Gallery feature, is there a way to display text for each photo, such as the standard WP image title and caption ? (I wish to use Owl for 100s of images, and using the WP gallery will be much faster than adding new Carousel items separately).

    (2) I wish to use portrait-oriented photos, single image, but have them centred, not fill 100% width and use a max-height. Is there an easy way to achieve this ? (eg: 900×600 landscape displays well, but a 600×900 portrait expands to 900×1200).

    (3) Using the WP Gallery feature, is there a way to display all images from a certain category or tag ? I guess this is asking a lot !
    I’m trialling Media Library Assistant, to add tags to photos and then display with a shortcode, eg: [mla_gallery attachment_tag=people]

    Hi,

    (1) This is not possible at the moment… However, I think it would be a great feature and will certainly consider adding it in the next version.

    (2) It’s more an Owl Carousel problem… I can’t really help here as I just created the interface between Owl Carousel and WordPress. You could try asking on the Owl Carousel website though: https://owlgraphic.com/owlcarousel

    (3) Have a look at the line 308 in the owlcarousel.php file. It’s where I set the filters. You could try to add a custom filter here but it would affect every carousel…

    Hi Pierre. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

    I am using your plugin to great effect in a couple of different ways, but I’ll start looking for a different solution for this one implementation that I have in mind. (And would rather use a lightbox !)
