• Hi all,

in spite of the growing acceptance of a two-step authentication process, I would suggest that native support/integration for 2FA should be added to the wordpress core.

I know that this can be added through the usage of a plugin, however, I think it would substantially add to the security of wordpress sites. Many users are not aware of the possibilities, therefore wordpress should ship it natively. It would also help people to conquer plugin inconsistencies and the overall brute-force attacks would not harm that many people.

I would like to know what all of you think.

    Cheers,
    willi4am

TFA is available through a number of plugins and providers, including JetPack and Google Authenticator. I would not want WP to choose an TFA vendor for me.
