[Feature Request] Track Specific IPs

    I don’t know if this is the right place for this, but here it goes.

    I’d like to eventually see a way that we can input specific IP addresses (maybe similar to the way we can blacklist IPs) so that they will show up in one of the “Known” categories or even in some user defined category/color.

    Many times there are visitors that we’d like to track but they don’t leave a comment (so they don’t fall under the current “Known Visitors”) nor are registered users (for “Known Users”) but the IP address is known.

    Well, I thought awesome. But I guess the idea of IP=LABEL isn’t as straightforward as it seems. Activating that plug-in has made zero changes in the views. Without any examples or screenshots of what people should see after activating the plug-in, I’m not sure if it’s something I’m doing/not doing or .. something else.

    The add-on will simply make WP SlimStat consider those IP addresses as known users. As such, they will be listed in the corresponding report under Overview.

    Did you have something different in mind?

    Well, again, I guess I’m not doing something. There are no changes to the IPs listed in the Add-on field.

    However, yes, I was expecting something that allowed for me to input the IP address and then either label it with my own label (e.g., “Friends” or “Internal” etc) and/or specific a color for that entry. I’d like specific IPs set apart from the general unknowns.

    At this point, absolutely nothing happens.

    I have tried

    x.x.x.x ; x.x.x.x=LABEL ; x.x.x.x, x.x.x.x, x.x.x.x ; and x.x.x.x=LABEL, x.x.x.x=LABEL, x.x.x.x=LABEL

    There are no changes in any information that I can tell. I’m not sure what other nuances I might need in order for it to allow me to see these specific IPs are something other than “Human Visitor” in blue.

    The add-on is not retroactive. Labels will only be associated to new visits (ones recorded AFTER you install the add-on). You may want to manually update your database (phpmyadmin) by doing a few UPDATE wp_slim_stats SET… WHERE ip = ‘<long int representation>’

    Gotcha. So, which of the above four examples is correct? And what’s the LABEL for if it just defaults to “Known User”?
